• 1) if anyone actually did a scientific test with a control group on Pewdiepie (aka people who had never seen any of his videos before), it’s pretty much guaranteed that at least one of them would laugh. Why else would he have SEVEN MILLION subscribers on Youtube? Because there are at least seven million of us who think that he is. So, statistically speaking & scientifically speaking, Pewdiepie IS funny, to at least a certain portion of a general audience. This isn’t “science” at all, it’s an opinion.

• 2) a lot of people who don’t like him are upset by the fact that he’s made “rape jokes”—-in the past. While rape isn’t funny, at all, and I don’t support making light of actual rape, I feel like I can definitely defend Pewds over this one since:

a) most of the time his jokes were saying that he was “going to get ‘raped’ ” by monsters. He never said “ha ha ha rape is funny, it should happen to girls.”

There are tons of people out there who use the term ‘rape’ inappropriately. Should we round them all up and have ourselves a good ol fashion lynching?

Consider this: I am actually pretty highly offended by the word ‘fucking’; It seriously demeans and degrades the terms “making love” or “to have sex”. And yet that isn’t what people mean every time that they say the word ‘fuck’ - It has multiple meanings.

The tumblr blog devoted to hating on Pewds uses the word fuck (fucknopewdiepiefandom) in it’s URL, the majority of my friends use the word fuck, and hell, I USE THE WORD FUCK TOO. A LOT. But you don’t see me bitching about it. Because that would be pointless, stupid, and largely hypocritical. But guess what? Getting pissed over someone misusing the word ‘rape’ is about the same as getting pissed over someone misusing the word ‘fuck’.

b) None of that even matters anyways because: he’s made an apology video since realizing how badly the term rape has upset some people, and made serious attempts to avoid using the word rape in all of his videos since. Now, you can say “DOESN’T MATTER HE STILL DID IT.” but then what kind of a human being does that make you? One who wont accept apologies? ESPECIALLY since he has gone through the efforts to try and change? :/ this proves only that
-YOU are the worse person than he is, and
-He genuinely does care about what not just his fans but general people watching his videos think because several of his fans told him that the word rape showing up his his videos doesn’t bother them, and that people are just being hypersensitive, and yet he STILL is going about making attempts to NOT use the word rape in his videos anymore.

But I guess all ‘celebrities’ have to be perfect, right? They can’t make mistakes or be human, unlike the rest of us.

TLDR; THIS ISN’T SCIENCE, AND IT ISN’T FUNNY EITHER.
